The FAA Testing Center is a private testing center located at the Embry-Riddle Flight Department AFSC Building RM 101D. The tests are proctored under the direction of the FAA through PSI Services LLC (formerly Lasergrade) in accordance with 14 CFR part 183. The Flight Department employs five testing proctors.

Process for Scheduling a Test

All testing candidates must schedule a knowledge testing appointment online at faa.psiexams.com/faa/login. You will be required to create an account using your FAA Tracking Number (FTN), or login if you have created an account in the past.

Note that if the FAA knowledge test requires an endorsement/authorization (can be verified on the FAA Knowledge Testing Matrix), the date of graduation requested during the scheduling process is the date on your endorsement.

If you are retaking a knowledge test because you previously failed or the results expired, it will count as a second attempt. To retest, you are required to bring in the original knowledge test score report to be scanned into the system at the time of your testing appointment.

The FAA Knowledge Test Matrix outlines all required documents you must bring (in hard copy, not electronic) to your testing appointment. As an overview, these documents include:

A government issued ID/DL.
The ID/DL must be current, have a valid physical street address, photo, date of birth, and signature. If the ID/DL does not have a current address, you must provide additional address documentation.

Any of the following are acceptable documents:

  • Airman Certificate
  • Student Pilot Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Mortgage Statement
  • Lease Agreement
  • Motor Vehicle Registration
  • Voter Registration Card

If you do not have a current/valid physical address and cannot provide one of the above documents, you can go to the DMV and get a temporary ID card. However, the address on the ID card will need to be the hall and room number you reside in.For example:

  • 1 Aerospace Boulevard
(Use your own hall and room number; this provides a physical address)
    Daytona Beach, FL 32114

Non-U.S. Citizens must provide two forms of ID
The first form of ID must be a valid and current passport. The second form of ID must be an ID/DL issued by a U.S. state, territory, or government entity.

Cancellation/Failure to Show for a Knowledge Test

All reschedule requests must be submitted directly to PSI Scheduling via phone at 1-844-704-1487 or via email at least 24 hours in advance of your testing appointment. PSI will issue your test fee refund if cancellations follow this requirement. Cancellations/rescheduling cannot be done through the ERAU Testing Center.

If you have not received your endorsement or signed graduation certificate (for AS ground schools), you will not be permitted to test.

Failure to show for a Knowledge Test will result in forfeiture of the exam fee and the fee will need to be paid again in order to reschedule.
