
Representing Embry‑Riddle's Daytona Beach Campus, the ERAU Flight Team competes at the annual National Intercollegiate Flying Association's (NIFA) National and Regional Safety and Flight Evaluation Conferences (SAFECON). The events we compete in are not aerobatic but are precision flying and knowledge events.

Interested in joining the Flight Team?
- Attend our mass briefing and complete the form linked below.
- No prior experience required.
- Five weeks of learning and practicing the ground events.
- Testing and interviewing.
- All majors are welcome.
- Feel free to come and ask members questions if you see us on campus!
If you are interested in trying out for the Team, complete the application form. Tryout applications open Aug. 18 and close Aug. 30 at Noon.
Region IX Champions for 41 Years!
The Embry-Riddle Eagles Flight Team competed in the NIFA SAFECON Region IX competition in March 2025. The team placed first overall, first in flight events and first in ground events.

After an unfortunate delay of the 2024 NIFA SAFECON Region IX Regional Flight Competition, the team spent the week in LaGrange, Georgia, fighting in a head-to-head competition with other flight schools in the southeast region of the country. They had a blast practicing, competing and spending time in the area. Congrats to all of those who competed and to those who took home awards! NIFA SAFECON National Competition
In May 2025, the team competed in NIFA’s SAFECON National Competition in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, placing sixth overall out of 30 teams! This was the first time at a national competition for many on the team, and they were excited to put their skills to the test against such a high standard! Now that they’ve been there and done that once, they’ll be back for more next year!
