We are a group of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University faculty volunteers from across the Daytona Beach campus dedicated to helping enrolled veterans as they make their transition from military culture to college culture. In collaboration with Veteran Student Services, we act as an additional resource for issues related to your classroom experience. For academic-related questions, for professional guidance, for transition issues, or to simply talk about achieving your goals at ERAU, we are your point of contact.

Sandy's educational background is in rhetoric and composition, professional and technical communication, new media studies, and veterans studies. She is particularly interested in veteran transition and reintegration and has extensive experience working with veterans on resume creation when re-entering the civilian workforce. Sandy is not a veteran herself, but she does have a family history of military service; her father, uncle, and grandfather all served in the U.S. Army. Sandy is also an animal lover and advocate, and is the faculty advisor of P.A.W.S., a campus organization dedicated to caring for the feral cats that call Embry-Riddle home.

Professor Glenn Harmon began his love with flying as a cadet in Air Force ROTC at East Carolina University. During his distinguished military career, he served as a Weapons System Officer (WSO) on the F-111 supersonic swing wing fighter in Europe, and a navigation instructor on the T-43 while teaching at the USAF Air Force Academy. After returning from Desert Storm in 1991, he was selected to attend the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine to become an aviation physiologist. Professor Harmon continued his flying as an airline pilot with Atlantic Coast Airlines and Independence Air flying the British Aerospace Jetstream 41 and the Bombardier CRJ as a captain, instructor and line check airman. Since joining Embry Riddle in 2006, he has become a noted Subject Matter Expert on physiology related issues, and has presented at numerous aviation safety conferences worldwide.

Edwin J. Hernandez is a United States Air Force veteran and has worked in higher education for over 12 years. He holds an Associate in Applied Sciences in Information Management from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University. Edwin is currently the Director of Veteran Student Services at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) - Daytona Beach Campus. He is responsible for advocating for students, developing programming that addresses military-affiliated community awareness, and building relationships with campus and regional partners. Before joining ERAU, he also served as the Director for the Office of Veterans Services at the University of Pittsburgh. Edwin is passionate about helping veterans, active duty service members, and their families achieve academic success.

Les Westbrooks has more than 35 years and more than 7,000 hours of flight experience. Before joining Embry-Riddle in 2002, he worked as a first officer and flight engineer for American Airlines. He also worked as a pilot and navigator for the Tennessee Air National Guard where he was trained as a squadron safety officer and flew C-130A and C-130H II. Les and his wife Deb are self-professed travelholics.

Diane lives with husband and two school-age children in Orange City, Florida where is she is active in her church, rides horses, plays golf, and spends her free time reading, working out, and gardening.
