On-Campus Housing Requirement

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Daytona Beach Campus has an On-Campus Housing Requirement for our students. This policy requires new students – all incoming first-year and transfer students under the age of 21 before September 1 – to reside in ERAU managed housing (henceforth referred to as “HRL”) for two full academic years (fall and spring semesters). Students who start at ERAU in the Spring semester of their first academic year will count that Spring semester as meeting year one of the two-year requirement.

Students can be exempt the On-Campus Housing Requirement if they meet one of the following exemption reasons:

  • Student lives at an address within a 50-mile driving distance of the Daytona Beach campus
    • Student and guardian must have lived at the address for a full calendar year prior to starting classes at the University.
    • Documentation establishing permanent residency at the address is required.
  • Student is 21 years of age or older by September 1 of the required contract year
    • No documentation required after admission to ERAU

Housing and Residence Life staff strive to support a positive living and learning environment through programs and events in the residence halls. Living on campus will keep you involved with the university and connected to new friends.
