Health Services is available to currently registered students of the Daytona Beach campus. We have a full-time team of five registered nurses available on a walk-in basis. A Physician Assistant, and Nurse Practitioner are available by appointment Monday through Friday, with limited hours on Sundays during the fall and spring semesters. A university physician is available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment.
Health Services is supported by registration fees, so students can be seen and treated free of charge. There is no fee to be treated at Health Services, however if services outside of the University are needed, such as lab services, the student would be responsible. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Health Services Department is located in the HDS Wellness Center in Building 500, across from Doolittle Hall.
There is a self service box in our lobby containing cough drops, antibiotic cream, bandages, thermometer strips, and condoms for students. It is always filled and there's never a charge!
Emergency care is available a half-mile from campus at:
Halifax Health Medical Center Emergency Room
303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd.
Daytona Beach, FL, 32214
Prospective Flight and Air Traffic Control students should be aware that certain sensory impairments, medical, neurobiological, and psychological conditions, and prescription medications might delay or preclude FAA medical certification. Students should discuss these issues with an aviation medical examiner to ensure they are eligible to participate in instruction.
