The Flight Operations Center boasts a state-of-the-art dispatch desk, real-time weather monitoring equipment, computer stations for flight planning, private oral briefing and training rooms and many other modern aviation conveniences designed to give COA students everything they need for their preflight planning and preparation.

The Flights Operations Center runs seven days a week, 50 weeks a year and is open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., giving flight students access to the airplanes they need.

  • 87 Cessna 172s with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit and ADS-B systems.
  • 14 Diamond DA42 VIs with Garmin G1000 glass panels and ADS-B systems
  • 60-seat multimedia classroom
  • 24 private lesson rooms
  • 16 debriefing stations

Research Capacity:

Previous work has been done on the implementation of electronic flight clipboards. Potential research exists investigating flight training dispatch, large fleet operations and diverse fleet operations.
