Embry-Riddle Appears on Florida Trend's Best Companies List for Third Year
Daytona Beach, FL, July 24, 2012
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has once again been named one of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For in rankings produced by Florida Trend magazine and the Best Companies Group.
Embry-Riddle is listed among the 27 large companies considered the best in the state and is the only educational institution to make the large-company category. The university also appeared in that category in 2009 and 2010.
The fourth annual statewide Best Companies list appears in the August issue of Florida Trend magazine and at www.FloridaTrend.com/BestCompanies.
The Best Companies list recognizes 100 outstanding companies across a wide range of industries in small, medium and large company categories. Embry-Riddle has 1,200 employees in Florida and 1,300 others worldwide.
Embry-Riddle employees enjoy competitive salaries, a paid time-off plan, a four-day summer workweek, and health insurance with vision and dental coverage. Tuition waivers give employees and their families access to a world-class education with a broad selection of more than 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in aviation, aerospace, engineering, business, transportation, and related high-tech fields. The University recently began offering its first doctoral programs, in aviation and in engineering physics; the Ph.D. in aviation is the first in the nation.
“Companies that retain the best employees with strong workplace programs are frequently the very same companies that serve their clients exceptionally well,” said Florida Trend publisher Andrew Corty. “It’s our pleasure to recognize these great companies and encourage others to join them in building Florida’s competitive advantage.”
The Best Companies Group evaluated each company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, and measured employee satisfaction with a survey covering leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits; and overall engagement.
The Best Companies to Work For in Florida program was created by Florida Trend and Best Companies Group and endorsed by the HR Florida State Council.
