Welcome to ERLI! At the Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI) we are committed to making your study at the Daytona Beach campus very useful and rewarding. So, we have created this page as a source for useful information about ERLI and the Daytona Beach campus.
If you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to help you, we invite you to ask your instructors or the ERLI administration, and we will do our very best to try to meet your needs.
Regular attendance in class and punctuality help you to learn more, so we expect you to be on time for all of your classes. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, and be ready to learn as the class begins.
In addition, if you are here on a student visa, the U.S. government requires you to attend your classes. It's the law. For this reason, it is very important that you do not miss class.
The evidence is quiet clear: students who come to class regularly and who work steadily will succeed in improving their English. Students with poor study habits eventually find that they do not succeed in the university environment. We encourage you to quickly develop good, regular study habits to ensure your success.
These grades are used in your classes: "A" Superior; "B" Above Average; "C" Average; "D" Below Average "F" Failure. If you stop going to classes an "F" grade will be given. We give you a grade report online at the end of each semester for you to judge how you are meeting your study goals.
Privacy of Records
Your privacy is important to us, so all of your grades, progress reports, and test results are confidential. Nothing will be given out by telephone;information will be given only to a person, company, embassy, or office for which you sign a release form.
How To Progress Through the ERLI Program
The ERLI program is divided into 5 levels:
*Due to small class sizes, level one classes are not usually offered.
Note: In any class at any level, a student must earn a 70% or higher [C, B, or A] before they can progress to the next level in that class.
For example: Student A passes Level Three reading with a C. This student will next go to Level Four reading.
For more information on ERLI's proficiency scale, please refer to the: Interpretation of the ERLI Proficiency Scale
