Overview
Any student can declare this minor and it will identify them as additionally trained in the life sciences. This inter-disciplinary program of study provides fundamental knowledge of general biology, and a more advanced knowledge of life sciences in aviation and aerospace applications. Of the 16 credit hours required for this minor, four must be earned with Elements of Biological Science (PS 107, 3 credits) and Biological Science Laboratory (PS 107L, 1 credit). Also, three credit hours are required through Aerospace Physiology (HF440). The student will be well prepared to go on to graduate school in the life sciences or to participate in health related aspects of their career.
Advantages
The Aerospace Life Science Minor provides the student with three distinct advantages. First, the student can legitimately claim a niche in space related human applications, in addition to the excellence in aviation niche they can claim as an ERAU alumnus. Second, the student can go on to graduate studies in any number of health fields from medicine to biology. We have faculty who can advise and prepare you for all these extra options in your career. Finally, the student will be the ‘go-to’ person in any setting which requires specialized knowledge of human limitation or ability. Join us today. Declare a minor in Life Sciences to compliment your major.

Careers
The Aerospace Life Science Minor will compliment most careers. Hence, the student would be able to seek employment as a bio-engineer (for example, diagnostic equipment) or a bio-physicist (for example, imaging technology) or a bio-psychologist (for example, pharmacology). The minor is intended to identify the student as someone who cares passionately about aviation and advancing the human presence in space.
