McNair Eligibility Requirements
Students are eligible to apply to the McNair Scholars Program at ERAU during their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Eligible students must have a 2.7 cumulative GPA and be interested in pursuing graduate studies and attaining a doctoral or terminal degree. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which requires that student participants be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. Applicants must fit into one or both of the designated classes:
1. First-generation college student (neither parent completed a bachelor degree) who meets the Federal TRIO Programs Current-Year Low-Income Levels.
2. Members of ethnic groups that are currently underrepresented in graduate education (Black, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander, or Native Hawaiian)
