Over the years, Embry-Riddle has had in place one or more new-hire programs with commercial airlines. The programs were implemented and designed to provide exceptional opportunities for Embry-Riddle graduates with Aeronautical Science degrees to become, upon graduation, new-hire pilots with airlines.
These relationships depend on airline pilot hiring opportunities, which are currently on hold at most airlines. Internship opportunities continue to exist at many airlines, and these possibilities should be reviewed with Career Services personnel.
American Eagle Airlines and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University have formed an alliance, with respect to the American Eagle pilot recruitment and interviewing policy. American Eagle recognizes the quality of training ERAU provides and the airline-ready pilots the program produces.
American Eagle agrees to guarantee interviews (provided American Eagle Airlines is interviewing) to pilots who have graduated from ERAU and who meet the following requirements:

JetBlue and Cape Air have combined with Embry-Riddle to offer a unique opportunity that creates a path to a career with JetBlue. Once accepted into the Gateway Program, five phases are defined:
Phase 1: Education and Flight Training
Stay successfully enrolled in an AABI-accredited program at Embry-Riddle. Gain all required aviation licenses and credentials.
Phase 2: Regional Partner Internship
Spend an internship at Cape Air.
Phase 3: University Flight Instructor
After graduation, the student will work as a full-time flight instructor for at least one year at Embry-Riddle.
Phase 4: Captain at Cape Air
Join Cape Air as a pilot. You will fly the line and gain valuable Captain PIC time, outstanding basic aviation skills, and weather experience.
Phase 5: Final Interview Process — JetBlue Airways
As a candidate of the University Gateway Program, if you have successfully completed Phases 1-4 and have attained the minimum requirements for a JetBlue first officer, you will be given an opportunity to interview when pilot hiring is active. If a job offer is extended, you will be placed in a training slot as a first officer.
