The Department of Economics, Finance, and Information Systems offers courses in accounting, economics, finance, information systems, and risk management to support the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. The department also supports courses in the Business Administration minor as well as the Maintenance Management area of concentration in the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science degree. Accounting courses at the undergraduate level include financial accounting, managerial accounting, and international accounting. Accounting for decision making is offered at the graduate level.
Economics offers a stream of classes that provides not only an introduction to economics but also an analytical approach to more advanced topics. Specific classes offered in this discipline at the undergraduate level include microeconomics, macroeconomics, engineering economics, managerial economics, and economics of air transportation. At the graduate level, advanced aviation economics is offered.
Finance courses in this discipline focus on financial concepts and how they relate to current situations. Finance classes offered by the department at the undergraduate level include corporate finance, investment analysis, and airport finance. Graduate courses include managerial finance, investments, and advanced corporate finance.
Information Systems courses provide future managers the knowledge and tools in information systems ranging from computer applications, databases, and management information systems. Classes in this discipline include base and advanced computer-based systems and applications, business information systems, and electronic commerce. A global information systems course is presented at the graduate level.
Risk Management is a vital topic in today's aviation industry. Aviation insurance courses are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
