The Corporate Aviation Forum

What is a cooperative (co-op) or internship? A co-op/internship is a structured work experience in which a student has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what she or he is learning throughout the experience. Co-ops/internships promote academic, career, and personal development.

The Co-op/internship program provides opportunities for students to:

  • Gain experience in their field by reinforcing the concepts learned in the classroom
  • Define career goals so that more realistic job choices can be made
  • Create a network of professional contacts which increases job opportunities following graduation
  • Gain a competitive edge by affording work experience that is relevant to our existing superior program of coursework and hands-on projects
  • Accomplish the school-to-work transition by bridging the gap between student life and the working world
  • Receive income to help with college expenses
  • Add their eye-catching and valuable Internship/Co-op experience to resumes
  • Possibly gain course credit

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities to pursue cooperative learning experiences and industry internships. See a College of Arts & Sciences Faculty Advisor for more information:
