The Vapor Core Reactor provides the PARTS spacecraft with nuclear power needed for its VASIMR engine.
Why you should come to Embry-Riddle?
Graduate studies in the Department of Physical Sciences (PS) at ERAU include opportunities to work with faculty and other graduate students who are involved in cutting-edge research in spacecraft engineering and space science. The ERAU PS department boasts an astonishing five-to-one student-to-faculty ratio, and you can count on personal attention and mentoring as you pursue your higher studies.
Nearly all of our graduate students who are actively involved in research programs are guaranteed a teaching assistant position. Depending on their research project and availability of funds, many students also work as research assistants. The new Ph.D. program, in particular, offers a generous fellowship to at least four students every year, which covers full tuition and provides a stipend. Thus, the students can receive financial support by working on the same project tasks required to complete the thesis, project report or dissertation required for their degree.
Students on our Master of Engineering (ME) degree program have an opportunity to advance their technical knowledge through course work in areas which can lead to professional development and career advancement.
