Mathematics Lab

The Mathematics Assistance To Reach Individual eXcellence (MATRIX) Labs concept was created to provide all students the resources necessary to succeed in their study of mathematics.

Depending on your needs, you can choose between:

• Tutoring
• Supplemental Instruction

The MATRIX and MAP labs are a component of the math department's expanded efforts to improve retention at all levels.

Assistance in these labs is provided by a select group of faculty, undergraduate and graduate students.

The use of the labs is free of charge to all Embry-Riddle students.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

If you are in one of the following classes and you need extra help, come to the SI sessions for small group tutoring with others in your course.  Sessions run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and you can attend for the entire time or any portion of the session. SI is available for the following courses:  MA 111, MA 112, MA 140, MA 142, MA 145, MA 222, MA 241 and MA 242.  The schedule varies by semester, so contact your instructor of the mathematics department for details.

Tutoring

Trained student tutors provide help in two different tutor labs.  

MA 004, MA 005 and MA 006 students may receive help in the MAP lab in LB 126A from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The MAP lab is not open on weekends.

Students in courses MA 111 through MA 242 may receive help in the MATRIX lab in A 101 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.
