- Are AMS students eligible for scholarships, grants, and loans?
Yes, because AMS student are full-time degree seeking students, they are eligible for academic, ROTC, and athletic scholarships in addition to all types of federal and state grants and loans.
- Are internships available for AMS students?
Yes.
- Does Career Services help AMS students who do not complete the degree?
Yes. There are many opportunities for A&P/Avionics Techs with or without a degree and many companies in the industry are interested in both types of Embry-Riddle grads.
- How long does it take to complete the A&P certification?
Sixteen months or 4 consecutive semesters.
- If I already have an A&P certification before coming to Embry-Riddle will I get credit toward the degree?
Yes, 48 credits for the AS or BS in AMS.
- Is it possible to attend Embry-Riddle just for the A&P certification?
Yes, applicants will be required to apply for the AS AMS or BSAMS degree and meet Embry-Riddle admission requirements; however, if accepted, students can choose to do the A&P/ALM courses first and stop after receiving their certification. They will earn credits for an AS or BS if they choose to pursue a degree at a later date.
- What does the BS in AMS degree consist of?
The A&P certification, General and Common Core, and 3 Areas of Concentration (AOCs).

- What is the Avionics Line Maintenance (ALM) specialization and how long does it take to complete?
The ALM program is a one-semester (4-month) program that covers the installation, troubleshooting, and test equipment for advanced avionic systems.
- What is the total cost for the 4 semesters?
Tuition, fees, books, tools, and FAA exams for the 4 semesters is $36,023 without campus housing or meal plan; $53,603 with campus housing and meal plan.
