Virtual Reality Lab


The mission of the VR lab is to explore, develop, and test immersive simulation technologies for use in aviation and aerospace research learning.

a student testing VR equipmentThe lab is located in building 341, room 135. Potential research topics include, pre/post flight operations, checklist memorization, three-dimensional navigation, airfield safety, cognitive process, and transfer of training.

Equipment

  • HTC VIVE Pro VR system, consisting of a head mounted tracker/display, two hand controllers with haptic feedback, and two IR beacons.
  • AVT Simulation, F/A-18 Hornet VR Receiver Aerial Refueling Part-Task Trainer.
