The College of Aviation Tutor Laboratory provides free individual tutoring for all students in Aeronautical Science classes, as well as those in the Flight Training program.

Qualified instructors are available during all regular classroom hours — 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. With a variety of training and practice aids available, the Aviation Tutor Laboratory is focused on setting students up for success by providing highly qualified flight instructors for tutoring and guidance.

For flight program students needing help with flight maneuvers or instrument training, the College of Aviation Tutor Lab has eight high-fidelity Redbird Flight Training Devices (FTD) that have been configured to accurately replicate the university’s fleet of Cessna 172 Skyhawks.

Students may use the Redbird FTDs to practice basic air maneuvers and instrument approaches free of charge. These practice sessions can be completed with or without an instructor.

The Lab also has a variety of other training aids and resources available for students to use, including:

  • Aircraft system components (engine parts, propellers, and instruments)
