Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is dedicated to ensuring that its students have the resources they need to excel academically. Students who need academic assistance can receive free tutoring at times convenient to them at one of several labs on the Daytona Beach Campus.
The Academic Advancement Center, or A² as it is commonly known, is your direct connection to academic support. The A² Center provides free tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) to all students in a convenient location on the Daytona Beach Campus in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The A² Center specializes in general education tutoring, specifically for students needing assistance in math, physics, chemistry, engineering sciences, introduction to engineering and writing. And it is all available to you for free. Math and Physics tutoring is available on a drop-in basis. The Writing Center offers appointments; however, walk-ins are welcome based on availability.
The multifaceted A² Center offers you the flexibility and space to learn on your own terms. You can use one of the moveable white boards to visualize equations, and you can write on the desk as you solve problems. Four experienced and knowledgeable tutors are available at any given time. The tutors know the courses and faculty and will encourage you as you study and progress through your courses.
The Writing Center — located in COAS Room 105 — is a free tutoring service for students who want to improve their writing, with the help of student tutors who go through the most rigorous training.
The Math Lab is available to provide students the resources necessary to succeed in their study of 100- and 200-level math courses although additional math course support is available. The Mathematics tutoring lab is located in COAS Room 103.
The Physics/Chemistry Tutor Lab — located in COAS Room 102 — offers free tutoring in physics and chemistry to any Embry-Riddle student.
The Academic Advancement Center provides tutoring in Computing for Engineers (EGR-115), Statics (ES-201), Solid Mechanics (ES-202), Dynamics (ES-204), and Fluid Mechanics (ES-206). The Engineering Sciences (ES) and EGR-115 tutoring is available in COAS Room 104.
